TRACY LAWRENCE
Tracy Lawrence (born January 27, 1968 in Atlanta, Texas) is an American country music artist. Signed to Atlantic Records in 1991, Lawrence debuted that year with the album Sticks and Stones, which produced his first chart single and first Number One hit in its title track. Five more studio albums, as well as a live album and a compilation album, followed throughout the 1990s and into 2000 on Atlantic before the label's country division was closed in 2001. Afterward, he recorded for Warner Bros. Records, DreamWorks Records, Mercury Records Nashville and his own label, Rocky Comfort Records.
Lawrence has released nine studio albums, three compilations, a live album, and a Christmas album. His studio albums have accounted for more than thirty singles on the Billboard country music charts. Of these, eight have reached Number One: "Sticks and Stones" (1991), "Alibis", "Can't Break It to My Heart", "My Second Home"(all 1993), "If the Good Die Young" (1994), "Texas Tornado" (1995), "Time Marches On" (1996), and "Find Out Who Your Friends Are" (2006).

A self-proclaimed hellion growing up in Arkansas, Texas-born Tracy Lawrence turned his raw energy into a potent musical force that topped the country charts seven times over. Lawrence's distinctive sound blends the influences of his heroes - including George Strait, Keith Whitley, Waylon Jennings and Merle Haggard - with an appreciation for southern rock and the very best qualities of contemporary country music's new traditionalist movement, which he helped to define. Powered by his rich, unmistakable baritone, Lawrence's songs can have you cutting up the dance floor or help you nurse your heartache - and everything in between. Track Listing1. Sticks and Stones2. Contemporary country vocalist Tracy Lawrence had his fair share of both success (Platinum-selling albums and dozens of hit singles) and much-publicized personal travails (an assault charge and several failed marriages). THE ROCK was ostensibly recorded to fulfill a promise to the Georgia native's parents, but it was his stock of varied life experience that made Lawrence comfortable enough to finally record a faith-based album. Sonically, the album differs little from his secular records, showcasing the same stone-cold country, whiskey-soaked vocals and smooth production that made Lawrence a star. Lyrically, however, songs such as "Dear Lord," "I'm Done," and "Say a Prayer" are direct, unabashed paeans of faith and thanks to the Creator, making THE ROCK one of Tracy Lawrence's most heartfelt efforts.
